Michael Lee Cannon has spent over three decades in banking while living in New York City, San Francisco, London, Amsterdam, and Singapore. He is well known in the cash management and payments business and has held management positions at J.P. Morgan Chase, HSBC and Visa. He has travelled extensively in the Middle East, Asia and Europe – on company business, as a speaker talking about cash management, payments, risk, anti-money laundering and just to enjoy the sights. Although he has written many articles about international banking and payments, Clearing House is his first work of fiction.
The first words of Clearing House were written during a three hour layover at what was then called New Tokyo Airport in Narita, Japan. The author had read the International Herald Tribune from cover to cover (including classifieds) and decided to tackle something new.
Since that time, many of the fictional events described in Clearing House have become the reality of the world we live in.
